REAL MADRID star Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly keen for Liverpool ace Mohamed Salah to join him at the Bernabeu this summer.
Real are expected to overhaul their squad at the end of a disappointing season that has left the Champions League as their only chance of winning a trophy.
And Gareth Bale is expected to be among the high-profile casualties of the planned clear-out, with Ronaldo happy for Real to get rid of the Welshman.
Cristiano Ronaldo is said to be having an influence on Real’s strategy as they plan for the transfer window opening again this summer.
And the latest reports from Spain indicate there is one player in particular that the 33-year-old wants to join him in Madrid.
According to Don Balon, Ronaldo is convinced that Salah has the necessary quality to fit in perfectly at Real.
The Egyptian has been one of Liverpool’s star turns this season, bagging an impressive 35 goals.
And Ronaldo is said to be willing to ‘help’ Real get Salah on-board ahead of the 2018/19 campaign.
Ronaldo apparently believes he can benefit from having Salah alongside him in Real’s new-look team.
And that’s good news for Real Madrid chiefs, who usually get the ‘okay’ from Ronaldo when pursuing deals.
Ronaldo and Salah actually went head-to-head on Friday night when Portugal faced Egypt.
Salah put Egypt 1-0 up in the 56th minute of the friendly clash at Switzerland’s Letzigrund stadium.
But Ronaldo struck twice in injury time to hand Portugal a 2-1 win.
