Real Madrid: Man Utd reject Toni Kroos, Gareth Bale and Marco Asensio after shock plot

MANCHESTER UNITED have reportedly rejected Real Madrid trio Toni Kroos, Gareth Bale and Marco Asensio in order to keep hold of David De Gea.
Real Madrid are keen to sign Manchester United goalkeeper De Gea when the transfer window reopens in the summer.

The 27-year-old nearly moved to the Bernabeu in the summer of 2015, only for paperwork problems to scupper the move.

Despite that collapse, though, Real Madrid still want De Gea to be their long-term replacement for Keylor Navas.

Navas is primed to leave Madrid at the end of the season with Manchester United emerging as potential suitors.

Yet Spanish website Don Balon claim United have snubbed proposals involving Kroos, Bale and Asensio in order to retain De Gea.

United are, slowly but surely, making progress under Jose Mourinho.
The club won two major trophies in the form of the EFL Cup and Europa League last term.

And they sit second in the Premier League table in a position that, should they maintain, would be their highest finish since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement in 2013.

De Gea, however, remains their most important player.

United are not short of superstars with Alexis Sanchez, Romelu Lukaku and Paul Pogba all capable of brilliance.

But De Gea is their undisputed star and key for the future.

And Don Balon say Real’s attempts to convince United into selling have so far yet to bare fruit.
Los Blancos were willing to let Kroos, Bale or Asensio go – as well as Raphael Varane and Isco.

Yet United have snubbed them, such is De Gea’s importance.

The goalkeeper, speaking recently, admitted he felt more happy in England due to the respect he is given.

“In England I have a great affection and respect that I do not notice so much here,” he said.

“But every time I come to the national team I feel fondness inside, and it is the most important thing.”
