ZINEDINE ZIDANE insists he treats Isco well after the Real Madrid star fuelled speculation he could quit the club.
Isco has struggled for game time this season and has been linked with a transfer away from Real Madrid.
Manchester City are the current favourites to sign the Spain international, with Manchester United and Chelsea also mooted to be interested.
Earlier this week Isco admitted he is struggling to convince manager Zidane to play him.
“[Spain manager Julen] Lopetegui shows me confidence with the minutes he gives me,” he said.
“Maybe I’m the problem in Madrid. I don’t know how to win Zidane’s confidence.”
Zidane was asked about the comments in his pre-match press conference, with Isco out of the squad that faces Las Palmas this weekend.
“Isco is a Real Madrid player and he is staying here,” Zidane told reporters.
“His comments do not bother me, we have a relationship and he is honest about his situation, but this is not a problem and it is important we work together to find his best version.
“The media always like to take words and invent stories but we both know the situation and there is no concern.”
He added: “I am not unfair to Isco.
“He is happy, maybe he doesn’t have the same role here (than with Spain), but I have shown to him that he is an important player for the team.
“I’m happy for the performance he had against Argentina.”
Isco will not play in the Las Palmas match due to injury.
Zidane said: “Isco and Sergio Ramos have problems and therefore cannot travel with us.
“The rest will be seen tomorrow, those who will travel will be fine.”
