80 percent of Custom Officers are NDC members – Ken Agyapong

New Patriotic Party Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong claims 80 percent of custom officers in Ghana are members of the opposition, National Democratic Congress (NDC).

The maverick politician who was speaking on Adom TV’s “Badwam” program revealed the officers have been sabotaging activities of the Ghana Revenue Authority.

According to him, though the Commissioner of Ghana Revenue Authority, Kofi Nti, is aware of this, little is being done about this.

“Things happening in public institutions are very bad, especially at the customs. At Customs, for instance, all the workers there are NDC members. Their commissioner, Kofi Nti knows very well and I must say all these people are making our party unpopular,” he stated.

According to him, the conduct of some elements he failed to name in some public institutions has tendency to sabotage the Nana Akuffo Addo government.

Mr. Agyapong predicts the NPP risks losing election 2020 if the NDC members at various institutions, especially the Customs division maintain their positions.

“All these people are at post and misbehaving. They all need to be sacked. Until we sack them, they will continue to make us unpopular. It’s time we deal with them,” he said.
