Ashgold beaten, as WAFA loses 46 home game record

League leaders Ashgold have lost their unbeaten run in the league to bottom side, Liberty Professionals at the Carl Reindolf Park after matchday six of the ongoing 2017/18 Ghana Premier League (GPL).

A 90th minute goal by Kyei Baffour Emmanuel was enough to make the “Scientific Soccer Lads” become the first team to defeat Ashgold this season.

In Sogakope, another unbeaten run ended after West Africa Football Academy (WAFA) lost their 46 game unbeaten home record, with a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Medeama Sporting Club (SC).



The Tarkwa based side came from a goal down to surprise the Academy Boys when Charles Boateng shot the Sogakope based side into the lead on the 23rd minute, with Justice Blay cancelling the goal before the break.

Kwesi Donsu scored the match winner for the vistors in the 57th minute.

Meanwhile in other results, Hearts of Oak cruised to a 3-1 victory over former champions Wa All Stars at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium as Asante Kotoko recorded a 2-1 win over Ebuasua Dwarfs at the Baba Yara Stadium.

Defending Champions made a big claim to their title defence with a 4-1 home victory over regional rival Techiman Eleven Wonders at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park. At the Nana Ofosu Gyeabour Park in Bechem.
Bechem United handed a 2-1 defeat to Dreams FC whilst Inter Allies lost 1-0 away to Elmina Sharks at the Nduom Stadium.
