Court remands man who allegedly murdered his father

The Kpando Magistrate Court has remanded to prison custody a 32-year-old man in Liati-Odumasi, for allegedly murdering his father.

Residents of Liati in the Afadjato South District of the Volta Region were thrown into a state of shock and mourning when they woke up to see the lifeless body of 74 years old, Alfred Kwame Siayor in his room.

The deceased according to neighbours and his son ( the suspect ) were seen in a heated argument a night before his death.

Eyewitness accounts suggested that the son, Lucas Siayor, was heard threatening the father in the said fight on Friday, April 14th.



Few hours after the quarrel, residents were shocked to see the body of the victim lying in a pool of blood with a swollen face.

Eyewitnesses have linked his death to the fight that ensued between him and his son.

Bloodstained pistol and a stick were retrieved by the police from the scene.

The Volta Regional Police Commander, DCOP Tuffour, who confirmed the incident to Citi News, said the suspect who bolted after the incident was arrested after they launched a search for him.

He said the suspect appeared before the Kpando Magistrate Court where he was remanded into prison custody, and would reappear in court on April 24, 2018.
