Comedian and musician, David Oscar has reiterated that Stonebwoy is far better than Shatta Wale musically and as such, the self-acclaimed dancehall king should respect the ‘Dirty Enemies’ hit maker.
Speaking on Daybreak Hitz, Thursday, monitored by abrantepa.com, Oscar said Shatta Wale is yet to achieve the feat Stonebwoy has.
Organizers of the International Reggae & World Music Awards (IRAWMA) honoured Shatta Wale on March 18, 2018 for his contributions to Reggae in Ghana and at the global level but Oscar opines that neither the recognition nor any other makes him better than Stonebwoy.
“When it comes to Reggae/dancehall, Stonebwoy has a BET; you don’t have one. You’re talking about IRAWMAs. Who doesn’t know that BET is bigger than the IRAWMAs? Let’s face facts” he argued.
The comedian known for not mincing words further jabbed Shatta Wale for overly bragging about his wealth.
“You are a king but someone is seated on you when it comes to the genre so respect that. You’re always boasting that you’re rich. If you’re rich, go buy BET” he stated.
Stonebwoy was adjudged Best International Act: Africa at the 2015 Black Entertainment Television (BET) Awards.
The dancehall artiste beat competition from Ghanaian counterpart Sarkodie, AKA (South Africa), Fally Ipupa (DR Congo), Sauti Sol (Kenya), The Soil (South Africa), Wizkid (Nigeria) and Yemi Alade (Nigeria).
He earned another nomination in the 2017 edition but lost.
Stonebwoy has also won the Reggae/Dancehall Artiste of the Year at the VGMAs on four consecutive occasions (2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018).
