Veteran Ghanaian actress, Grace Omaboe, popularly known as Maame Dokono, has descended heavily on actress Moesha Boduong, for claiming that Ghana’s bad economy has compelled women to give sexual favours in order to survive.
“Moesha’s butt is even artificial because I have heard that she had to go through surgeries to have it like that and instead of doing something meaningful for yourself, you rather using your butt to sleep with men for money. It’s a bad practice,” she disapproved.
In an interview with CNN, Moesha Boduong said: “In Ghana, our economy is in such a way that you just need someone to take care of you”.
“You can’t make enough money as a woman here because even if you want to get an apartment, in Ghana you pay two years in advance and I just started working, where will I get money to pay for an apartment for two years,” she said.
Though Ms Boduong has apologised for her comments following a wave of criticisms against her on social media, Maame Dokono has wondered why the actress generalized the matter which she believes is unreasonable.
Speaking exclusively to JoyNews’ MzGee, the veteran actress said Moesha went overboard with her submissions.
“You don’t have to exhibit your body to be a good actress in Ghana and I’m referring to Moesha and her baseless comment. You got a chance to be on CNN and instead of projecting the true Ghanaian women you rather went overboard to destroy the image of our lovely women who are working hard to put food on the table.”
She continued: “For you alone to come out to say this doesn’t mean majority of women are doing same”.
