Jordan Ayew Named Swansea City Player Of The Year

Jordan Ayew was the biggest winner at Swansea City’s end of season awards as the Ghana striker won three awards at Wednesday night’s event.

The son of Ghana legend Abedi Pele won the Players’ Player of the Season, Goal of the Season and Top Goalscorer of the Season awards at the Liberty Stadium.

The Ghanaian won the top scorer award after netting 11 goals so far this season and contributing to many other goals this season.

He also grabbed the Goal of the Season award as his strike goal against Wolves was voted by the supporters of the club as the best of the season for the Swans.

The crowning moment came when his own team-mates voted him as Players’ Player of the Season, beating off competition from Lukasz Fabianski and Alfie Mawson.

Ayew’s international’s key contribution to the club’s fight against relegation was recognised by his team-mates and supporters of the club at the big event.

It becomes perhaps the biggest win for a Ghanaian player in the top five leagues in Europe this season as his outstanding performances were recognised.

The Ghana attacker faced competition from Lukasz Fabianski, Federico Fernandez, Alfie Mawson and Ki Sung-Yueng but his sweat and grit that has been his hallmark for this season stood tall.

The English Premier League side’s players came together on Wednesday to find out who would be recognised at the Player of the Season awards dinner but it ended up being the Ayew show.

It was a one-way traffic with the Ghana international attacker getting most of the awards on the night following an excellent season for the Swans.

The Swans Supporters’ Trust and the Executive Fundraising Committee came together again to stage the ninth dinner on behalf of the club.
