Man Utd boss Jose Mourinho reveals Romelu Lukaku and Anthony Martial injury updates

MANCHESTER UNITED boss Jose Mourinho has revealed mixed news on injured forwards Romelu Lukaku and Anthony Martial.
United went into their final game of the season against Watford assured of second place and with one eye on next weekend’s FA Cup final against Chelsea.

But Jose Mourinho was forced to make attacking changes anyway due to the ankle injury Lukaku sustained against Arsenal last month and a knee problem Martial picked up this week.

Marcus Rashford and Alexis Sanchez started up top for United and it was the academy graduate that struck the game’s solitary goal in the 34th minute.
Speaking post-match, Mourinho provided injury updates on Lukaku and Martial, amid fears both could miss the FA Cup final.
“[Martial is] injured,” said Mourinho. “He was injured, he was injured Friday training session, yesterday couldn’t train.

“He had treatment in the morning at the training round and he stayed away. I don’t know.

“I know that Romelu will be back for Tuesday because he’s in the last week [of rehabilitation] and we have to see but Anthony I have no more.”
Mourinho’s comments came after Martial had been spotted being driven away from Old Trafford hours before the win over Watford.

And that had led to speculation something was amiss after the Portuguese had stated the attacker would feature against the Hornets.

Martial has grown frustrated at his limited starts this season, particularly since Sanchez joined Manchester United from Arsenal in January.

And Express Sport understands Chelsea could make a move for him, particularly if they lose Eden Hazard to Real Madrid.
