Anas owns 40% of New Crusading Guide newspaper – Kweku Baako

Investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas owns 40 per cent of Kweku Baako Media Limited, owners of the New Crusading Guide newspaper, Editor-in-Chief of the paper, Abdul-Malik Kweku Baako, has revealed.

Mr Baako told Kwami Sefa Kayi on Accra-based Peace FM’s Kokrokoo programme on Wednesday, 30 May that: “I own the other 60%”.

He made the revelation while rebutting allegations of corruption leveled against his protégé by lawmaker Kennedy Agyapong, who insists Anas Aremeyaw Anas entraps people for monetary gains.

Mr Baako also debunked Mr Agyapong’s claim that Anas’ company at Dzorwulu has been evading taxes.

He adduced documentary evidence in the studios of the radio station to back his assertion.

On Mr Agyapong’s allegation that Anas is using land guards to annex a property from a supposed rightful owner within the Trade Fair enclave, Mr Baako said the court ruled in favour of Anas on the matter, adding that the other party has filed an appeal at the Court of Appeal.

Mr Baako said he has known Anas since 1998 when he joined his newspaper as an intern from the Ghana Institute of Journalism.

“I realised the spirit of adventure in him, the courage, he has an enduring resilience, maybe more than I ever had”, he said, adding that the numerous allegations leveled against him by Mr Agyapong will not make him lose his focus.
