Nabil Fekir deal backed
L’Equipe journalist Erik Bielderman says Nabil Fekir will join Liverpool this summer.
He said: “We do believe that it is going to happen.
“I’m not going to tell you it’s going to happen on a very short basis but it should because it seems quite obvious from the Lyon camp and the Fekir camp, Liverpool is really the first choice.
“He’s a playmaker, he’s a creative player so you know you have to use him in a central position behind one or two strikers.
“He’s not what he was a couple of years ago. He’s not a right-winger.
“I don’t know if it’s going to work with Firmino but it could work for Jurgen Klopp to use him in that position.”
Nabil Fekir wants move
Liverpool transfer target Nabil Fekir wants to join the Reds before the World Cup starts.
The Lyon star has been heavily linked with a move to Anfield in recent weeks.
And according to the Daily Mirror, Liverpool will up their interest in Fekir in hope of completing a deal in the coming days.
They say the France international has told Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas that he wants to join Liverpool – and he wants his future wrapped up before the World Cup starts on June 16.
The Mirror add that the Reds are keen to open formal talks over Fekir next week.
Thibaut Courtois eyed
Liverpool are interested in Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois as talks to extend his contract at Stamford Bridge continue to stall, Gianluca Di Marzio claims.
Courtois’ Chelsea contract expires in 2019 and negotiations to extend his stay have proven less straightforward than the Blues had hoped.
That has alerted their Premier League rivals Liverpool, who are said to be on the look-out for a new No 1 with Simon Mignolet set to leave and Loris Karius in the spotlight after his disastrous display in their Champions League final defeat to Madrid.
And Di Marzio say that Chelsea are prepared to sell Courtois if a contract agreement cannot be reached so as to avoid losing the 26-year-old for nothing in 12 months’ time.
Mohamed Salah exit claims
Mohamed Salah could be heading for the Anfield exit, reports in Spain claim.
Salah, 25, has been tipped to quit Anfield this summer, with Real Madrid tracking the winger.
And according to Spanish news outlet Don Balon, Salah has told his agent to sort his Liverpool exit.
However, they reckon Manchester United and Manchester City are also in the hunt for Salah.
Real, United and City are all capable of paying Liverpool’s asking price for the Egypt star, which is reportedly around £175m.
Alisson bid?
Liverpool have made an offer to sign Roma and Brazil goalkeeper Alisson, according to Reds hero Steve Nicol.
Nicol admitted he would love Alisson to move to Anfield, but says the asking price might be a stumbling block.
“I would love to have Alisson at Liverpool,” he told ESPN FC.
“As far as I know Liverpool have already made an offer for this guy. It’s about the price now.
“I’m going to say Liverpool have to get him.”
Emre Can update
Juventus are confident of signing Emre Can this week.
Can, who is out of contract at Anfield this summer, is expected to leave Anfield after the club announced the signing of Fabinho.
Sky Sports say the 24-year-old midfielder ‘formed’ a pre-contract agreement with Juventus in January.
And could be unveiled in Turin before the end of the week.
