Man Utd transfer news: Jose Mourinho hopes to complete deal TODAY due to Diogo Dalot worry

MANCHESTER UNITED target Diogo Dalot could join the Red Devils today.
Jose Mourinho has identified Porto defender Dalot as Antonio Valenica’s long-term replacement at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils have been tracking the 19-year-old for months and United have met Dalot’s £17.5m (€20m) buyout clause.

However, according to The Times, United are considering paying over the odds to ensure they land the right-back today.

They reckon Barcelona, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are ready to meet Dalot’s release clause, which has left Mourinho worried.

Manchester United may instead pay £19m today to complete the deal ahead of their rivals.

The Red Devils hope their solid relationship with Porto will help them land their first summer signing.

Dalot has made just seven senior appearances for Porto, however, United have been monitoring his performances in youth team games.

The Red Devils will splash the cash this summer, with Mourinho desperate to keep up with Manchester City next season.
United finished a staggering 19 points behind Pep Guardiola’s side this year as City stormed to the Premier League title.

Mourinho wants to wrap up United’s transfer business as soon as possible, with the transfer window shutting earlier this summer.

The window shuts on August 9 this year, three weeks earlier than in previous seasons.
