Real Madrid get Mauricio Pochettino boost as Tottenham boss has secret clause – big claim

REAL MADRID could appoint Mauricio Pochettino with reports in Spain claiming the Tottenham boss has a clause in his contract that would allow him to replace Zinedine Zidane at the Bernabeu.
Real Madrid are eyeing Tottenham boss Pochettino as a replacement for Zidane, who quit in an emotional press conference earlier this morning.

The La Liga giants have won the Champions League three years on the trot but a major summer overhaul now beckons.

Question marks linger over the futures of Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo, while a new boss is now Florentino Perez’s main priority.

Spanish outlet Diario Gol say Pochettino is Real Madrid’s No 1 choice to take over at the Bernabeu.

And they even claim he has a secret clause in his contract.
Pochettino signed a new Tottenham deal earlier this month, saying: “I am honoured to have signed a new long-term contract as we approach one of the most significant periods in the club’s history and be the manager that will lead this team into our new world-class stadium.

“This is a special club – we always strive to be creative in the way we work both on and off the pitch and will continue to stick to our principles in order to achieve the success this club deserves.”

Yet Diario Gol say he may be about to leave.

And that is because Pochettino supposedly has a clause that allows him to leave for either Real or PSG if the opportunity arises.

Madrid may test his resolve, with Zidane choosing to walk away.
The Frenchman announced the decision earlier today, saying: “I think it’s the moment, both for me, the team and the club (to step down).

“It’s a strange moment to do so, I know, but an important one too. I had to do this for everyone.

“This side should carry on winning and needs a change for this.

“After three years it needs another voice, another method of work, for this I took this decision.”
