Ken Agyapong’s Attacks On Anas State Sponsored – Suhuyini

The Member of Parliament for Tamale North, Alhassan Suhuyini has described as unfortunate and state sponsored, attacks on ace investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas.

The New Patriotic Party MP for Assin Central Kennedy Agyapong is on a crusade to discredit Anas following his latest investigative mastery on the thriving rot in Ghana’s football.

The Maverick politician and businessman has been on a collision course with the investigative journalist over his modus operandi.

He has promised to “expose” the award-winning undercover journalist because he believes he set people up for fame, recently releasing pictures he claims are Anas’.

Anas uses over 150 prosthetics to conceal his true identity in the course of his undercover operations.

Speaking Friday on Morning Starr, the Tamale North lawmaker observed Mr, Agyapong’s relentless attacks on Anas may be state sponsored.

“Talking of intolerance, a celebrated journalist like Anas Aremeyaw Anas is facing some state sponsored threat,” he told Morning Starr host Francis Abban, adding: “The pictures being brandished on social media could have been obtained from state agencies like the Immigration service because they are passport pictures.”

Fredrick Opare-Ansah, MP for Suhum Constituency however rubbished Suhuyini’s claims arguing that “Kennedy Agyapong is Kennedy Agyapong and that His actions cannot be said to represent the NPP or the State.”

The fact that Mr. Agyapong is speaking his mind, asserted Opare-Ansah, does not mean the state has a hand in what he says.

“Even President Nana Akufo-Addo cannot control what Kennedy Agyapong says. He just speaks his mind…it doesn’t mean the State is supporting his position on Anas Aremeyaw Anas,” he added.

Anas is set to release his latest expose’ on corruption in Ghana football. The premiering of his video is scheduled in Accra on June 6 and 7 at the Accra International Conference Centre and in Kumasi on 9th and 10th June, Tamale on 13th June and in Takoradi on 16th 2018.
