Man Utd transfer news: David De Gea reveals where he wants to play after World Cup

MANCHESTER UNITED star David De Gea insists he is happy at Old Trafford.
De Gea has forged a reputation as one of the world’s best goalkeepers and once again proved his value to United this season.

The stopper has another year to run on his contract, with United able to trigger a clause to extend it for a further 12 months.

Manchester United are understandably eager to keep hold of De Gea for the rest of his career and want him to sign a new contract.
The 27-year-old continues to be heavily linked with a return to Spain, with Real Madrid set to buy a replacement for current No 1 Keylor Navas.
However, it seems Real will have to turn their attention away from De Gea, who was named as United’s Play of the Year again last month.

“Usually I’m always calm, the important thing now is to start the World Cup on June 15th,” said De Gea, ahead of Spain’s 1-1 friendly draw with Switzerland on Sunday.

“Is the most important thing. Do well in Russia, have a good role and do things in the best possible way.

“Future? I’m happy where I am, happy. Now, very focused on the national team.”

Earlier this year United boss Jose Mourinho made it clear he had no intention of letting go of David De Gea.

“I see him here – I don’t know what the intentions are of Real Madrid but they should think about another player,” said Mourinho.
Real are thought to have kept their options open in case a deal for De Gea is impossible.

Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois is on their radar and may be sold this summer.

Roma ace Alisson Becker has likewise been touted as a potential replacement for Navas at Real.

Liverpool are also keen on Becker, who reached the Champions League semi-finals under Eusebio Di Francesco this season.
