REAL MADRID have contacted Max Allegri over the Italian become their new manager – and Juventus are open to a deal.
Real Madrid are seeking a new boss after Zinedine Zidane quit last week.
Los Blancos president Florentino Perez has drawn up a list of candidates to replace the Frenchman.
And among the names – which include Tottenham’s Mauricio Pochettino and Julian Nagelsmann of Hoffenheim – is Allegri.
The 50-year-old has previously been courted by Real but the club now seem serious on bringing him to the Bernabeu.
Italian newspaper Tuttosport claim Perez made the first move on Friday, calling Allegri to offer him the job on the Real bench.&
And while a deal may not be possible this summer, Juve are open to letting Allegri go at the end of next season.
That, Tuttosport claim, is because the Turin club themselves are eyeing former player Zidane as their new boss.
Allegri has been in charge of Juventus since 2014 and has flirted with an exit in the past.
An amicable departure at the end of the 2018/19 season would coincide Zidane having had 12 months rest from coaching.
The Frenchman seems keen to take a break, citing exhaustion as one of the reasons he left Real Madrid in the wake of winning their third straight Champions League crown.
However, as much as Juve would like the pieces to fall into place next year, Real are in need of a manager now.
Allegri is under contract at Juve until 2020, meaning Real may have to pay as much as £12.3m to prise him away from Turin early.
