Anas exposé: Corruption Education must start from School – Marietta Brew

Former Attorney-General, Marietta Brew Appiah-Oppong, has called for education on corruption to be included in the curricula at the basic level of education in the country.

According to her, such a practice will help to inculcate the spirit of patriotism and hatred for wrongdoing in the pupils as they form their character, and also help them develop a great love for their country.

The call comes on the back of the expose by investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas where several key football officials were seen taking bribes to compromise their decision and ‘sell’ the whole country to an outsider in a secret recording.

Speaking to Francis Abban on the Morning Starr Thursday, Marietta Brew said that corruption must be fought fiercely by the country.

“We should have curricular programs in school that will teach children the love for country.”

Meanwhile the Ghana Football Association which claims to have not gotten the chance to watch the video, even though they dominate the most in the contents of the video, has assured the nation that, there will be no bad actions that will be brushed under the carpet following the revelations of ill-conduct by some officials in the investigative piece put together by journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas.

“The GFA wishes to place on record that, there will be no attempt of a cover-up or shield any of our members caught in alleged acts of corruption. The GFA wishes to assure all that as an institution it does not condone any manner of corrupt practices”. This was the FA’s statement of Thursday.
