Ghana midfielder Kingsley Sarfo has been jailed for 32 months in Sweden after being found guilty of sex offences involving under-age, 15-year-old girl.
He will be deported after serving his jail term.
Kingsley was accused of two counts of rape of a child under 15 in September 2016 and June last year.
Although he pleaded not guilty because he didn’t know the girl was under-aged, the Malmo District Court established that he had knowledge of the girl being under-aged.
His club, Malmo FF has released a statement on their website that they will act on the matter when the board meets on Monday.
But according to reports, they are demanding IK Sirius refund the money they paid to acquire Kingsley’s services in 2017 since the crime was committed before his transfer.
Sarfo made his Black Stars debut in the 1-1 draw against Uganda in the 2018 Fifa World Cup qualifier.
