Liverpool transfer news: Man Utd star David De Gea at centre of Liverpool transfer plan

LIVERPOOL’S summer transfer business could hinge on what Manchester United keeper David De Gea does this summer.
According to Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol, De Gea is unwittingly at the centre of a transfer chain.

The Spanish No.1 is a long-term target of Real Madrid, who are once again likely to try to lure the Spaniard away from United.

In fact, the Real Madrid board’s insistence on bringing in another goalkeeper contributed to Zinedine Zidane leaving the club, with Spanish sources claiming he was adamant Keylor Navas should be No.1.

United don’t want to sell their star player and if Real Madrid’s move fails, they will then take their attentions elsewhere.
And it’s here where Liverpool come into the reckoning. The Reds want to sign Roma’s Alisson but Real will try to get him too if De Gea stays put.

It means Liverpool’s best hope of getting the Brazilian stopper is for Real Madrid to complete the signing of De Gea – or he could join the Bernabeu giants instead.

Solhekol explained: “Liverpool are interested in signing Alisson. They’re looking for a goalkeeper this summer.

“He played against them in the Champions League and let in five goals against Roma but he is very highly regarded. He’s Brazil’s No.1.
“The only problem that Liverpool might have is if Real Madrid come in for him.

“According to our colleagues at Sky Italy, Real Madrid will try and sign David De Gea this summer. How many times have we heard that?

“And, according to Sky Italy, if Real Madrid don’t get David De Gea their next No.1 target is Alisson.

“You’d have to think if Alisson had the choice between Real Madrid and Liverpool, he’d probably go to Real Madrid.

“That’s just one thing Liverpool have to look out for.”
