Hon. Kennedy Ohene Agyapong , MP for Assin Central has identified the promotion of education in his constituency as his priority in the area.

Speaking to Alfred Amoh in an interview on Nkwa Fm 88.1 morning show, Hon. Kennedy , however, stressed that he could only achieve this vision by encouraging parents to further the education of their children in senior secondary and tertiary institutions.

He expressed regret about the increasing number of school dropouts and teenage mothers in the area, which he attributed to poor parental care and poverty.

The MP noted that many people in the municipality depended on small-scale farming for their livelihood and promised to solicit financial support from non-governmental organizations for the people to improve their economic activities.

Hon. Kennedy said plans were underway to organize unemployed youth in the area into groups for agricultural and other income generating activities,
He also stated that he has created many job opportunities for the graduate, some has entered the military, customs, community police and many more.

” I am dissapointed in them for not coming out to speak the truth for those who criticize me for doing nothing in the municipality to see my influence fighting for the youth of Assin,
I will try my best to seek support for brilliant but needy students in the constituency and encourage them to pursue higher education”, he added.
