Attempts to expose Anas' identity 'murderous', 'wicked' - Kweku Baako

Attempts to expose Anas’ identity ‘murderous’, ‘wicked’ – Kweku Baako

To hide his identity, he covers his face with mask and beads. For security reasons, he uses different prosthetic faces to help him in his line of duty. One can say his ‘enemies’ keep increasing as they are not comfortable with his style of investigation and this has led to some trying to force him to disclose his identity.

Ace investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas, has been one of the trending topics in the country for weeks now.

The public screening of his documentary titled ‘Number 12’ generated a lot of controversy especially from Kennedy Agyepong who has sworn to expose Anas. Social media was subsequently swamped with numerous images alleged to be Anas.

Following the release of another ‘image’ of Anas, Kweku Baako says the investigative journalist is impassive by attempts to show his identity.

Speaking on Accra based Peace FM’s Kokrokoo Programme Wednesday morning the Editor-in-Chief of the New Crusading Guide newspaper said: “There’s no fear in him (Anas), he’s been empowered not to fear. If you have fear, you will have been neutralized, immobilized, that is what fear does and there is no fear in him. Fortunately, he’s in good company when it comes to people who are not afraid of anything or anybody”.

Kweku Baako, who does not understand why some people want to expose the identity of Anas at all cost added: “I wonder what the motive is? Because, If it is allegations of corruption, bribery, ineptitude, misconduct all that, that’s fine. Those issues can be made and then we deal with it, but the very moment you are seeking… identify this man, is that him? Is that not him? I won’t do it because I have been questioning the motive and what you seek to achieve with that.

Especially, when in the last few weeks some people have been issuing threats against him… The motive in terms of the identity, I think is a very wicked one and I am not prepared to help anybody to continue engaging in that, that’s the point. You must have a murderous intent to be concentrating on the issue of identity.
