The family of the late former Vice President, Paa Kwesi Bekoe Amissah-Arthur, has announced the final burial and funeral rites for the deceased statesman.
As per the final arrangements, Mr Amissah-Arthur will be laid in state at the foyer of the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC) on Thursday, July 26.
Filing past for the general public on that day will be between 8:00am and 6:00pm.
“Please note,” the family’s statement on Friday warned, “that no cameras would be allowed in the foyer.”
Mr Amissah-Arthur, who was Vice President of Ghana from August, 2012 to January, 2017, died on Friday, June 29 after he collapsed at the Air Force Gym at Burma Camp.
He was rushed to the 37 Military Hospital but could not survive.
A burial service is scheduled to be held at AICC on Friday, July 27 from 9:00am to 12:00pm for him.
“Additional seating will be made available at the forecourt of the State House and the service will be streamed live as well,” the statement signed by Jabesh Amissah-Arthur said.
“The mortal remains of the former Vice President will be driven through some principal streets of Accra after the burial service.
“Interment will follow at the Military Cemetery.”
