Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong has expressed worry over investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas’ constant use of beads as a way of masking himself.
“We have begun the court processes and I am ever ready to meet Anas in court. The only problem I have with Anas is his constant use of hood even in the court. The last time I met him at the General Legal Council, I felt sorry for him”, Mr Agyapong said.
“Why choose to be journalist in a hood? Can’t he be without the hood for once by removing those things around his face? I’m even scared he may soon get cancer because the heat in those beads is just scary. He should think twice,” he added on Adom TV’s Badwam show Tuesday.
Mr Agyapong has dragged Investigative Journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas to the General Legal Council, accusing him of misconduct as a lawyer.
He claims he has evidence suggesting that Anas, a lawyer and a journalist connived with a state attorney to have a case against some accused persons dismissed.
The MP has been on a campaign against Anas, insisting that his style of journalism amounts to entrapment, contrary to the ethics of journalism and law.
He also accused Anas of using intimidating tactics to steal landed properties at Tse Addo in Accra.
Anas is also seeking ¢25 million in aggravated damages in a defamation suit filed against the NPP legislator before an Accra High Court for publishing defamatory materials about him.
Mr Agyapong had earlier warned he will not appear in court if Anas is not forced to remove his hood.
But it appears he has since reneged on those stances.
