Swansea City assistant manager Billy Reid has claimed Federico Fernandez is set to move to St James’ Park.

“Our colleagues at Le 10 Sport understand that AS Monaco have received contact from Newcastle United for Brazilian left-back Jorge, who the Principality side are hoping to offload.

“The situation seems very complicated, Newcastle would only be able to do the deal as a loan.”
