Months after the latest exposé by Africa’s ace controversial international undercover journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas was premiered, it is emerging that National Chief Imam, Sheikh Dr. Osmanu Nuhu Sharubutu made frantic efforts at stopping the journalist from premiering the video.

Dubbed “Number12”, the football-related project exposed massive corruption in the Ghanaian game, culminating FIFA suspending the President of the Ghana Football Association, Mr. Kwesi Nyantakyi for 90 days after he was seen in the video allegedly receiving bribes in the sum of $65,000 from the undercover journalist in a hotel room in Dubai.

Mr. Nyantakyi who was the second most powerful person at CAF and the head of the WAFU zone B, lost those positions as well after resigning his office as the President of the GFA.

Journalist Mohammed Amin Lamptey, a made stunning revelations that the respected Muslim leader in Ghana, days leading to the premiering of the exposé, sought to prevent Anas Aremeyaw Anas and his Tiger Eye team from showing it.

“Let me give you this exclusive. As part of this Anas Aremeyaw expose, I am putting it before you, I was trying to write an article on it, but let me give it to you free of charge, and maybe, later on, you pay me”. He told Accra-based radio station Happy FM in an interview monitored

Adding that “If you read my article, where I spoke about the Islamic perspective, I indicated that before the premiere of the expose, we have this big person who called Anas Aremeyaw Anas that, he wanted to meet him because it’s an issue about two Muslims. Kwesi Nyantakyi and Anas Aremeyaw Anas”

“You can go back to my article to refer to this. I did not mention the person’s name. I said…. I upheld the name. Today am telling you, that big person is the national Chief Imam Askh Nuhu Sharabutu. As the leader of Muslims in this country. Anas went ahead and showed the video and we all saw what happened”. Amin Lamptey revealed.

He claimed, “Kwesi Nyantakyi, when he was called and he went, the national chief Imam told him. “Kwesi, you are a Muslim, believe in Allah, I know what is going to happen to you is really, really tough. It’s not going to be easy for you but Allah is in control. Don’t worry, you don’t worry, allow it to go. Things will change”.

“At the end of the day. We all saw what happened” He added.
