Official: Sports Ministry Pays GFA Staff June Salaries

Staff of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) have begun receiving their salaries from government, starrsportsgh.com has confirmed.

It will be recalled that in the aftermath of the #Number12 documentary, the Police CID, as part of its investigations, marked the offices of the GFA as a “crime scene” and has since deprived all officials and workers from accessing the premises to go about their duties.

Amidst growing fears of job losses, the Fifa/Caf Liaison Team announced on July 9 that “the Government had decided to pay the outstanding salaries of the GFA Staff.”
The workers of the GFA however have had to wait until the end of August to start receiving their salaries.

Staff of the GFA, on Friday August 31, received bank alerts with their due salaries for the month of June paid by the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

“Yes, June salary of all the staff has been paid,” spokesperson of the Sports Ministry, Elvis Adjei Baah told starrsportsgh.com adding that “July is currently being worked on.”
