A member of the National Cathedral Construction Committee has hit back at critics of the cathedral insisting that the venue would not be changed as “God also deserves the best.”
Rev Prof Paul Frimpong-Manso, the General Overseer of the Assemblies of God Church, described the critics as a few Sambalats and Tobiahs who want to refuse Christians the right to have a national worship monument.
He said while other religions have had government support including the subsidising of pilgrimage and a pilgrimage village, a few people were attempting to thwart the right of Christians to have a cathedral that would serve a multipurpose including swearing-in of Presidents, burial service for national leaders, a music school and a Bible Museum.
