Neymar visits Wayne Rooney as former Man Utd team-mate also drops in on DC United star

NEYMAR was all-smiles as he caught up with Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney during the Brazil star’s visit to the US.
Neymar has been enjoying some down-time while on international duty with Brazil, posing for a photo alongside Wayne Rooney and his son Kai.

The Paris Saint-Germain forward was in the US for Brazil’s friendly clash against Dave Sarachan’s side at the MetLife Stadium in New York.

Brazil won the match 2-0, with Neymar getting on the scoresheet and Liverpool striker Roberto Firmino also finding the back of the net.

The 26-year-old scored his 58th international goal from the penalty spot on Saturday and looked pretty satisfied as he posed for an Instagram snap alongside Rooney.

Rooney is now based in Washington with DC United, having departed Everton on a free transfer during the summer.

The MLS club are understood to have paid a compensation package to the Toffees, with Rooney’s second spell at Godson Park lasting just a single season after a 13-year stint at United.

The 32-year-old has already made an impact in the States, taking over the captaincy at Audi Field before breaking his nose in his fourth match and also being involved in a stunning end to the 3-2 win over Orlando City.

The action was a little more subdued on Saturday night, with Rooney’s side drawing 1-1 against New York City at the Yankee Stadium.

Former DC captain Steven Birnbaum scored the opener from Rooney’s cross before ex-Barcelona star David Villa equalised late on.

David Moyes was in the crowd to watch the draw, with the ex-United boss potentially in the frame to take over the US coaching role from interim boss Sarachan.

As well as Neymar, Rooney was also joined by former Red Devils team-mate Andreas Pereira for the Instagram snap after their respective games.

The Brazilian duo were in their international training gear as they posed with the Rooney clan before both Pereira and Rooney Snr. shared the photo online.
