I’m ready to face Ellen C. Kwawukume in court – Kennedy Agyapong

Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong says he is prepared to face former Chief State Attorney, Ellen C. Kwawukume and another plaintiff who sued him for defamatory in court.

Mr. Agyapongs says he is not frightened by the suits because he has his evidence ready.

The outspoken politician and business guru has been slapped with two separate defamatory suits in which the complainants are demanding damages to the tune of GHC25million and GHC20 million respectively.

The GH¢25 million defamation suit was filed by a retired Chief State Attorney, Ellen C. Kwawukume against Mr. Agyapong for peddling falsehood against her and referring to her as a corrupt justice.

The lawmaker launched an attack on the retired State Attorney and accused her of demanding a bribe from ace international investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas’ following the premiere of the journalist’s expose` dubbed Number 12.

A counter investigative piece by Mr. Agyapong titled “Who watches the watchman” which was screened publicly on Television stations owned by the him “revealed” Chief State Attorney, Ellen C. Kwawukume took $5,000 bribe from suspects to pervert justice.




He has also been sued by a mining company in the Western Region, C &G Aleska Company Limited for defamation.

According to the suit by the mining firm, Mr. Agyapong made some defamatory comments about the company on an Accra-based Net 2 TV station owned by the lawmaker which have gravely injured their reputation.

Reacting to this on Adom TV’s morning show, Badwam, Mr. Agyapong said the retired justice is “broke” and only needs money, hence the demand for such huge sum of money for damages.

“She didn’t live her life well and now she needs money in her retirement. Has she ever seen that amount of money she’s demanding from me in the suit? This lawyer knows about all the rogue deals by Anas. I’m not afraid of her. I’ll say more,” he said.
Mr. Agyapong says the guy who recorded secret tape in the famous “Who Watches the Watchman” will be present in court as an evidence.

“If she wants to be embarrassed, I’ll bring the guy to court. The guy is very bitter because of how he was treated by Anas. I’ll embarrass all of them. Everybody lined up is prepared to come to court. I am ready for them,” he stressed.
