The Ghana Football Association is now a reptile breeding ground after 3 months inactivity at the Secretariat.
The FIFA Normalisation Committee (NC) has tasked staff of the Ghana Football Association, GFA, to find a cleaner to clear the offices before work begins.
The Government of Ghana, through the Police Criminal Investigations Department (CID), handed over the secretariat to the Normalisation Committee last week Thursday.
All members of the normalisation committee selected by FIFA were in attendance to receive the secretariat which was termed a crime scene by the Police CID following the premiere of an exposé into corruption and match-fixing by Anas Aremeyaw Anas.
Also present were some staff of the Ghana FA including Mr. Alex Asante, Protocol Officer and Deputy Secretary General in charge of competitions at the FA.
Upon receipt of the FA after Police had removed their warning banner notifying users of the facility, Dr Kofi Amoah, President of the Committee tasked staff to hire a cleaning agency because of its nature to keep the offices in shape before they start using it.
On the interim, staff will be using offices of Citizen Kofi until the secretariat is well cleaned. The Committee will also be working from the same office until further notice.
Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) held preliminary meetings with Dr Kofi Amoah at his residence in Labone last week Tuesday according to GhanaCrusader.com sources.
We also understand that some staff of the FA have been working from Citizen Kofi since the Liaison Team was formed by FIFA and CAF in July.
No timeline was fixed for them to secure an entity to clean the office, but GhanaCrusader.com understands it should be as soon as possible.
The FA is no more a crime scene, but it is bushy, its offices are dusty due to lack of maintenance in the over three months period staff and the general public was asked to “stay away” and proper cleaning is required to give it a facelift for usage.
