It’s sad the youth aren’t aspiring to be great like Nkrumah, Kofi Annan – Stonebwoy

Dancehall artiste Stonebwoy Burniton born Livingstone Etse Satekla has said it baffles him when he reads history of the great things some personalities within the music , movie , sports and the political arena have done but cannot confidently point at any section of the new generation aspiring to be great like them.

Speaking at the unveiling of Ambassadors of Ghana–Jamaica Homecoming festival he said that Samini has been one of the greatest Ghanaian musicians to have set big records across the world and he, “Samini” has passed it on to him.

Giving examples, he recalled that Samini is the first to perform at “Champions in Action” in Jamaica and also he “Stonebwoy” is the first Ghanaian musician to perform at Reggae Sumfest.

“We just have to continue the legacy, is just like Ghana Black Stars winning African Cup in the past, what are we the youth doing now? Reading all this history from music to politics and reading about people like Kofi Annan & Kwame Nkrumah we don’t have any of our youth that you can point at and say with confidence that the person can become someone like Kofi Annan or Kwame Nkrumah, the whole thing baffles me” he lamented.

He advised that, we all have to go back to and ensure that we make our community and country proud.

In a separate chat with Attractivemustpha.com, he said that this is a chance to remind our-self that we have work to do and may have failed a number of times.
