MANCHESTER UNITED captain Antonio Valencia has liked an Instagram post criticising Jose Mourinho and calling for him to be sacked as manager.
The Red Devils drew 0-0 with Valencia in the Champions League group stages last night to continue their winless streak.
United have not won any of their last matches, crashing out of the Carabao Cup and suffering further Premier League misery against West Ham.
And their failure to beat Valencia drew boos from some parts of Old Trafford as United’s troubles on and off the pitch together.
United’s form has seen Mourinho linked with the sack given his ongoing feud with Paul Pogba.
Skipper Valencia pledged his support for the Portuguese tactician, declaring: “He is our boss, we have to be with him and we are fighting.”
But Valencia appears to have made an error on social media – liking a post which claimed United boss Mourinho has made it a “punishment” to watch them play matches now.
The Instagram fan account for the Ecuadorian, which tagged Valencia in the post, said: “I’m not even surprised about the outcome of this game.
“I always look forward to our games but recently Mourinho has made watching us a punishment now. Something needs to change. It’s time for Mourinho to go.”
And Valencia liked the post – which was also translated into Spanish below the English caption, in an apparent dig to the boss.
Yet in the media the right-back dismissed recent reports that he has had a fall-out with Mourinho.
He told journalists: “No, I have never had any problem with anyone, thank God.
“The decision [of Mourinho to strip Pogba of the vice-captaincy] is for the coach to make, now we need to see the positives.
“We played an important game and got a point, now we have a game against Newcastle and we need to fight.
