Man Utd fans have theory about why Ed Woodward invited legends with Mourinho job on line

MANCHESTER UNITED supporters have come up with an interesting theory about Ed Woodward.
The club have made their joint ever worst start to a Premier League at this point, acquiring just ten points.

Pressure is continuing to build on Jose Mourinho after a public spat with Paul Pogba has taken centre stage.

The World Cup winner was stripped of the vice captaincy and was caught on camera in training ground bust up with his boss.
During tonight’s Champions League match with Valencia, the cameras picked up that there were a number of club legends watching the game.
Some Manchester United supporters believe Ed Woodward invited the legends for one reason.

One said: “You can be sure they are guests of the board. Woodward playing it like a fiddle. LFC did the same over the past managers when writing on the wall. Invited every past legend. With his red tie and scarf on… shaking their heads in disapproval for the cameras.”

“Woodward trying to look good by inviting fan favourite legends to sit next to him,” another added.

The presence of the Class of 92 was evident at the end of David Moyes’ tenure, when Ryan Giggs stepped in to take caretaker charge at Old Trafford.
The legends would have been incredibly disappointed with yet another dismal display which ended 0-0.

Some supporters are beginning to sense that the former players may push the board towards given Mourinho the axe.

“The class of 92 has come back to @Manutd to pressure Woodward to fire Jose Mourinho,” another fan claimed.

Another said: “In the latter days of Moyes at United, the Class of 92 suddenly became highly visible (and questioning). They’re all there tonight, and Scholes outspoken. Coincidence??”

This was Manchester United’s fourth match without a win and the board’s patience with Mourinho could be wearing thin.

This weekend’s match with Newcastle is a must win game ahead of the international break.

After the interval they face Mourinho’s former club Chelsea before hosting Juventus, a run that could spell trouble for the Portuguese boss.

United are second in the group on four points after Juventus beat Young Boys 3-0 in Turin.
United arrived late for their Champions League group game against Valencia at Old Trafford, forcing kick-off to be delayed by five minutes to 8.05pm.
Manager Mourinho claimed that United were “refused” an escort by GMP, which led to their journey from the Lowry Hotel taking 45 minutes longer than usual.

But Greater Manchester Police insisted they are no longer obliged to provide that service for every match and that the club were aware of the change in policy.

A statement from GMP said: “All police deployments are carried out following a comprehensive risk assessment process and specifically in respect of escort team buses, are only ever undertaken on occasions when there is intelligence or information to suggest a risk of threat or harm to the players.

“GMP has previously used police vehicles to accompany a team’s coach but after a review of our core policing responsibilities it was decided that we would no longer provide this service at every fixture.

“We consulted with the relevant football clubs over a period of months to allow them adequate time to plan ahead for their journeys to the stadium.

“Every fixture is assessed individually and we will continue to work with all clubs to provide an appropriate policing response.”
