The FIFA/CAF normalization committee are yet to receive a confirmation from Sierra Leone as to whether they will honour the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against the Black Stars which is slated for October 10,
Sierra Leone were slapped with an indefinite ban by FIFA over government interference last Friday/
FIFA banned the West African side from football related activities after the government in the country decided to sack FA boss Aisha Johassen as well as General Secretary Christopher Kamara which clearly breached the codes of FIFA.
The action taken by the World’s Football governing body automatically prevents Sierra Leone from playing their Cup of Nations qualifier against the Black Stars.
Dan Kwaku Yeboah spokesperson of the normalization committee says his outfit is yet to receive an official communique from the Sierra Leonean FA.
“As at now it looks dicey, I can’t tell whether they (Sierra Leone) will honour the match or not,” dAhe told KWESE Sports.
“We have been in contact with CAF and FIFA but the situation as at now balls down to Sierra Leone, whether they will put things in place as directed by FIFA as soon as possible so they will honour the game.
“We are also waiting for them to communicate with us to let us know whether they will be coming or not so as I speak the situation is not clear and we are still waiting.
“However we will go ahead with our preparation as scheduled until an official confirmation from Sierra Leone.”
The Black Stars are expected to begin preparation on Monday in Kumasi.
