Man Utd transfer news: Mourinho has secret reason for wanting Perisic and Rebic deals

MANCHESTER UNITED boss Jose Mourinho reportedly has a reason for specifically wanting Croatia duo Ivan Perisic and Ante Rebic.
Manchester United boss Mourinho targeted the duo back in the summer, with Perisic and Rebe both playing starring roles as Croatia beat the likes of England, Russia and Denmark to make the World Cup final.

The Red Devils boss was, however, thwarted by the club’s board. They instead told the 55-year-old to make do with his current attacking options.

Despite that, though, reports claim the Manchester United manager remains eager to lure the Inter Milan and Frankfurt players to the Premier League.

And the Daily Mail claim he has a specific reason for targeting the duo.
It is claimed that Jose Mourinho feels both players have the ability to ‘bully’ defences.

And that is in a stark contrast to the current crop of forwards on offer at Old Trafford.

Romelu Lukaku is going through a dry patch in front of goal.

Alexis Sanchez, meanwhile, has found the net just four times since his blockbuster move from Arsenal in January.
And Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial remain infuriatingly inconsistent.

Mourinho’s best teams – prior to his United move – have always possessed wingers capable of the sublime.

At Chelsea, the first time, he had Damien Duff and Arjen Robben.

In his second stint at Stamford Bridge, he drafted in Willian, Pedro Andre Schurrle, Juan Cuadrado and Mohamed Salah, despite already having Eden Hazard.
At Real Madrid, he coaxed the best from Cristiano Ronaldo and Angel Di Maria.

And, during his time at Inter Milan, Goran Pandev and Samuel Eto’o were his go-to men.

The Daily Mail claim both Perisic and Rebic are on United’s January wishlist.

But the board currently need convincing if both players are to move to Old Trafford in the New Year.
