Marco Ianni: Who is Chelsea coach who RILED Jose Mourinho in Man Utd fight?

MARCO IANNI was at the centre of a spat with Jose Mourinho at the end of Chelsea’s draw with Manchester United. But who is he?
Jose Mourinho was fuming on the Chelsea touchline after seeing his Manchester United side surrender a 2-1 lead late on today.

Ross Barkley popped up with the equaliser to spark wild celebrations on the Chelsea bench.

And Mourinho was furious with one man in particular.
As Chelsea’s bench emptied to celebrate the goal, Marco Ianni jumped in front of the United staff and seemed to goad the Portuguese manager.

And Mourinho took exception to the display, jumping up and challenging the coach.

Marco Ianni is Chelsea’s second assistant coach and joined Maurizio Sarri at Stamford Bridge over the summer.

He spent two years as Sarri’s technical assistant at Napoli before moving to west London.

Mourinho brandished three fingers at the Blues fans after the game, signalling the three league titles he won as manager at Stamford Bridge.

The boss was asked what happened when the goal went in.

He said: “Oh come on, I can tell you that 97 minutes of the game was so good that you have to focus on that.

“I did not get respect back from Chelsea [fans] but that is not my responsibility. What I did here today I will do in Madrid, in Milan, in Porto, the reaction from the fans is not up to me.

“I am not annoyed with anything. What happened with Sarri’s assistant, Sarri was the first one to come to me and say he will resolve it.

“The assistant has already come to me and apologised, I told him to forget it. I have made a lot of mistakes in my career.”

Asked about the ruckus after the game, Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri said: “At the end of the match it was very good, a fantastic match, in the first half in the tactical part we did very well but in the second half we played their match, the physical match which is not for us.

“Sincerely I have not seen {what happened] but I have spoken with Jose [Mourinho] then I have spoken with a member of staff because I think we were on the wrong side so I have dealt with it immediately.

“If I speak to a member of staff and am very hard [with him] I cannot come here and tell everything because then I am not credible with the staff.”
