Two Chinese nationals were on Saturday, October 20, 2018, shot dead at Wassa Akropong in the Western region after a misunderstanding with their fellow nationals.
The incident occurred at the Philip hotel where they are lodging.
The cause of the misunderstanding is not yet known to the police due to language barrier, according to a police source.
One of the deceased has been identified as Qin Wenkang, aged 35. The other has not yet been identified.
The police source told Empire News’ Emmanuel Ohene-Gyan that others are also in critical condition after sustaining severe guns wounds.
A search of the hotel revealed four pump action and a single barrel guns.
The police have so far arrested 33 suspects made up of 21 males and 12 females.
Wassa Akropong a mining town in the western region has been a home for many Chinese nationals who are engaged in illegal mining.
