Ghana skipper Asamoah Gyan scored his first goal of the season as Kayserispor walloped Pazarspor 6-1 in the Turkish Cup on Wednesday.
Ghana’s all-time top scorer was making his first start of the campaign and also provided two assists.
Gyan’s countryman Bernard Mensah was also on target for Kayserispor, before his goal on the hour mark, the Ghana international provided the assist for Bilal Basacikoglu to score in the 52nd minute to give the home team a 2-1 lead.
Ahead of the game Gyan’s manager Samuel Anim Addo gave him these words of encouragement;
“May your special angels rise up for you as you start your first game of the season today in the midst of the storm 🙏🙏🙏. God be with u Great one @asamoah_gyan3 🙏”
The 32-year Gyan has endured a difficult start to the season since he had managed only three games in all competitions in Turkey.
