Kumawood actress Christiana Awuni in an interview with Pulse GH disclosed that one of the reasons her marriage with her ex husband did not work was because he wanted her to be a house wife.
“My ex husband wanted me to be a home maker but I did not want that so the union resulted in divorce. If you are an actress and your husband does not support your career or roles you play, quit the relationship or marriage.”
According to her, an actress should go for someone who understands the nature of her job as that is the only way the marriage can work.
“There are young actresses who love to show a lot of skin in movies and when that happens and if your partner does not like that, it will be wise to break up because that relationship will not work”, she said.
However, she said to get one’s partner to understand one’s job as an actress, she advised that one’s partner is invited to movie sets so that he can have a first hand feel of what goes on.
According to her, this would go a long way to have that partner understand the job better and see things as they are saying “Staring at the screen and going to see things yourself on set are two different things” added.
Christiana Awuni started her acting career with Concert Party Theatre and TV Cantata.
Having played alongside Kumawwood actors such as Emelia Brobbey, Nana Ama McBrown, Agya Koo, Kyeiwaa, Akrobeto and Bill Asamoah, Christiana Awuni said there were no roles she could not play although movie producers prefer to cast her in witch roles.
Christiana Awuni who has featured in movies such as Sika Nti, Dufie, Maso Aware, Ware Me and Metim Nea Metim is grateful to movie producers—Socrate Safo and Danfo B.A, for introducing her to movies.
