Baffour Gyan begs court to postpone DNA Test over Asamoah’s ‘Black Stars’ match

Baffour Gyan, acting on the authority of his brother Asamoah Gyan has prayed to the Court hearing the case of annulment of the marriage between his brother, Asamoah, and Gifty to postpone the date of the DNA Test.

The DNA Test which was scheduled take place on the 19th November, 2018 under the instructions of the court saw Baffour Gyan pray the court that his brother who is currently battling Dede Ayew over the Black Stars captain band has a “national assignment” for the Black Stars of Ghana against Ethiopia which will make him unavailable for the Test.

The match is a qualifier for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.

Meanwhile, throughout the match against Ethiopia, Asamoah Gyan was left on the bench, with sources disclosing that the coach saw him as “mentally unfit”, a fact Asamoah Gyan has rejected vehemently.

He said he was a used substitute for “tactical reasons” and not because he was unfit in any way.

Ghana went ahead to win in Addis Ababa with 2 goals, all scored by Crystal Palace forward Jordan Ayew as Asamoah Gyan watched from the benched.

“Its [substitution] was based on tactical reason as you could see that it got to a point where we were under pressure and so at that particular point, we needed a midfielder and defender and that’s why we saw Afriyie Acquah and Jonathan Mensah being introduced into the game just to keep the result intact because the pressure was becoming unbearable on us,” the Kayserispor marksman told Angel FM.

Meanwhile, wife of Asamoah Gyan is reportedly calling for the DNA Test to be conducted at the Police Hospital under the supervision of officials from the Criminal Investigations Department, instead of the private hospital, Baffour Gyan is proposing. According to a source to close the family, she is afraid “something can happen somewhere for the results to be tampered with” if not done “under strictly supervised” and impartial conditions.

Gifty Gyan’s 2002 marriage of convenience for a UK Visa is the subject of a raging court battle between she and her husband of 5 years and fiancé of 11 years.
