I lost weight because of body shaming – Sista Afia

Ghanaian songstress, Sista Afia who has lost some weight has revealed she had to slim down because she felt fat and unattractive.
In addition to feeling unattractive, the Jeje singer said body shaming by social media trolls pushed her more to shed some weight.

“I was called so many names anytime I finished a performance. Some fans were bold enough to tell me to do something about my weight because I am not attractive”, she told Showbiz yesterday, November 26 at her the listening of debut album, Queen Solomon at Mensa Restaurant, East Legon.

Throwing light on how she managed to lose weight, Sista Afia said she reduced her food intake and hit the gym to work out too.

“I was bent on losing weight because the negative comments were becoming too much. Now I look good and sexy and I want to maintain my shape this way” she said.

Moving away from her new body, Sista Afia said although Queen Solomon is her maiden album, she is working very hard to become a household name come next year.

Queen Solomon has 15 songs and they include Ware Me, Jerry, Bokoo, Woa, No Be So, Something, Potato, Champion Atta, Money Man, Yiwani, Are You Ready and Memp?.



Sista Afia said the album features some of the best artistes in Ghana and she hopes her fans will love it.

Some of the musicians who worked with the songstress on Queen Solomon are Kofi Kinaata, Shatta Wale, Flowkingstone, Kelvin Boy and Medikal.

According to Sista Afia, Queen Solomon will be released with a concert on Saturday December 1,2018 at the West Hills Mall.

Artistes who will who pass through the concert are Bisa Kdei, Medikal, Patapaa, Wendy Shay, Feli Nuna, Yaa Pono, Fancy Gadam, Kelvin Boy and Akoo Nana.

The rest are Kurl Songx, Dope Nation, Dade Opanka, Lord Paper, Eddie Kay and Ras Kuuku.

The album listening which had comedian DKB as the emcee was graced by sound engineers Doctor Ray and Cash Two, Kelvin Boy and other entertainment personalities.
