Man Utd FAVOURITES to sign Mesut Ozil as Barcelona eye Arsenal transfer

MANCHESTER UNITED are the bookies’ favourites to beat Barcelona and snap up Mesut Ozil from Arsenal.
Manchester United are in the market for some added firepower, with Alexis Sanchez and Romelu Lukaku struggling for form.

Reports they could make a move for Arsenal gem Ozil have been raised in the past.

The Gunners playmaker was left on the bench for the 2-1 win over Bournemouth at the weekend.

Arsenal manager Unai Emery insists the German will not get preferential treatment at the Emirates – despite his £350,000-a-week wages.
They claim Ozil’s odds on moving to Manchester United in January have dropped from 3-1 to 2-1 as interest in the player grows.

Barcelona are also said to be keen on Ozil and are 4-1 to get a deal over the line.

“After being dropped to the bench against Bournemouth, punters have been rushing in to back Mesut Ozil to leave Arsenal in January where the betting suggests it is Manchester United who are the favourites to land the German midfielder,” said Coral’s John Hill.
Arsenal are unlikely to accept an offer for the superstar unless the figure pushes towards the £100m mark.

And even then, the likelihood of them losing Aaron Ramsey on a free transfer means keeping their top players is Emery’s priority.

Ozil could be in line to return to Emery’s starting XI on Thursday when the Gunners travel to Vorskla Poltava in the Europa League.
However, the former Germany international may also be rested, with a north London derby against Tottenham scheduled for Sunday.

Arsenal then travel to United as they fixture schedule ramps up ahead of the busy Christmas period.
