I nearly became a taxi driver after failed move to Kotoko – Latif Blessing

Ghana midfielder Latif Blessing has disclosed that he nearly ventured into taxi driving following a failed move to Asante Kotoko.

Blessing, 21, is rated as one of the best forwards to have ever graced the Ghana Premier League.

The former Liberty Professionals ace, who emerged as the top goal scorer in the 2015/16 Ghana Premier League season, has been impressive since joining MLS side Los Angeles.

“I went to Kotoko for justify after someone recommended me to them,” he said.

“For two days, they didn’t even let me train but what broke my heart is that the jersey I wore was taken from me and was given to another player so I had to sit bare-chested.

“I regretted and thought I wasn’t good enough so told my mum to buy a taxi for me to drive”.

However, Blessing has also threatened to switch nationality over lack of Black Stars call-up.

Blessing is currently embarking on an Adidas-sponsored project to build a football pitch for the youth of his hometown, Nankese, a village in the Suhum-Kraboa-Coaltar District of Ghana.

He helped Los Angeles FC to finish third in the Western Conference of the MLS, scoring 5 goals in 30 appearances.
