A former member of Tiger Eye PI has been granted state protection following alleged threats on his life which he claims emanate from his former team members in Tiger Eye PI, MyNewsGh.com can authoritatively report.
The Anas team member officially reported to the Tesano Police station where he wrote a statement and has been given protection ever since.
The former Tiger Eye PI member whose identity is being shielded by the police said he received a text message to the effect that a bullet will be put into his head for “betrayal”, revealing that he left the job at Tiger Eye PI in December 2017 following a fallout from a “Dubai Operation” in which Anas abandoned him after working for him since 2012.
Police sources at Tesano told MyNewsGh.com off the record that the said former Tiger Eye Pi member claims to have been very close to the murdered Ahmed Hussein-Suale and is ready to cooperate with the police provided he and his family will be protected. He is currently being housed in an unknown location as Investigations continue.
Kennedy Agyapong, Nyantakyi, Anas
It is emerging that aside Kennedy Agyapong, NPP MP who was invited for questioning by the Criminal Investigation Department of the Ghana Police Service, and former Ghana football boss Kwesi Nyantakyi, investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas has himself being questioned by investigators, MyNewsGh.com has learnt.
Last week, we reported how the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service, has “invited” Member of Parliament for Assin Central, the Honorable Kennedy Agyapong over the murder of Anas’ partner, Mr Ahmed Hussein-Suale.
Kennedy Agyapong has promised to fully cooperate with investigators to unravel the murder as he claims he knows nothing about the murder.
The former Tiger Eye PI staff actually contacted Kennedy Agyapong when news of Ahmed Suale’s murder broke. Asked by Tesano Police as to why he chose to go to the Assin MP first instead of Police when he had information about his life and the murder, the unnamed former Tiger Eye Staff said he feared the police may be working in the interest of his former boss Anas Aremeyaw Anas and would compromise him.
Within the week, embattled Ghana Football Association President Kwesi Nyantakyi wasalso invited for questioning.
The Service said a statement has been taken from Kwesi Nyantakyi as the deceased played a key role in the Number 12 documentary by renowned undercover journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas.
ACP David Eklu yesterday giving an update on Mr Hussein-Suale’s death said the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) confirmed have started “extensive and rigorous investigations into the unfortunate killing of Mr Hussein Suale.”
I was out of the country
A New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament (MP) for Sekondi Andrew Egyapa Mercer has revealed that a key suspect in the murder of undercover journalist with Tiger Eye PI Ahmed Hussien-Suale has told the police he was out of the country when the murder happened but extra checks revealed it was not true.
Member of Parliament for Sekondi constituency, Andrew Kofi Agyapa Mercer revealed this on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme Monday monitored by MyNewsGh.com. it is unclear yet, which particular suspect he was referring to.
“Some people told the police they had travelled when in fact they were in Ghana. Do you think the police are joking? He quizzed.
“Even the people who committed the crime have been identified and I’m more than definite that the police will get to the bottom of the matter” he opined.
Ahmed Hussein-Suale
The deceased, Ahmed Hussein-Suale was shot and killed by two assassins as he left his family house ostensibly to go take care of his sick child Wednesday evening.
Many have linked his demise to role played by Member of Parliament for Assin Central Kennedy Agyapong. The outspoken MP was said to have splashed pictures of Ahmed on television and on many social media platforms after the premiere of Number 12 documentary which exposed the rot in Ghana’s football.
The Minority in Parliament is calling for Mr. Agyapong’s arrest for what they say was his role in the killing of Ahmed Hussein-Suale.
The Sekondi MP disclosed that some interested parties in the case who declined police invitation claiming to be outside the country were actually in Ghana.
