The horrific deadly Benchema Nkwanta to Adjofua road, expected to start on 2nd quarter of this* *year. Road Minister assures.*

Members of Parliament on Friday 8th February 2019 sitting, the Member of Parliament for Sefwi Juaboso Constituency Hon Kwabena Mintah Akando questioned the Road Minister, Hon. Amoako Atta on their preparation towards Benchema Nkwanta to Adjofua road in the Western North region after it was captured in the 2019 budget.

Hon Akando sees the road to be deplorably horrific and deadly as also as the spinnery available road for the people of that catchment area. The “S S” road as called, has being the people’s worry since it is the only road that serves them as the means for their food stuffs, cocoa, timber and other crops for transport.




To answer the question from Hon Akandoh, Hon Amoako Atta Road Minister said, the road is one of the main roads for high cocoa and timber production in the Western region and for that matter the Finance Ministry is financing the loan arrangement from ING Bank for Government of Ghana (GoG) to ensure the road construction.

“The loan agreement is a condition precedent to the signing of the contract. The Funding source of the project is 35% Eurol Grant, 65% GoG funding through a loan from ILG Bank both in Netherlands. Moving into the future, the contract for the construction of Benchema Nkwanta to Adjofua road project expected to be signed during the 1st quarter of this year. The works are expected to start in the 2nd quarter of this year 2019”. He said.
