There is nothing wrong, implicating about Ofosu Ampofo’s leaked tape – Lawyer John Ndebugri

Private legal practitioner, John Ndebugri has disclosed that he does not see anything implicating and wrong with the secret audio in which National Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Samuel Ofosu Ampofo is heard inciting party communicators against the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission and Chairman of the National Peace Council.

“These are propaganda people doing their politics…I mean every politician is doing that so I don’t see really what the brouhaha is all about. If he says they are going to wage a war against the Electoral Commissioner…a war was waged against Charlotte Osei leading to her removal she did not die. That was the war against her. When the present party was in opposition they waged a war against Charlotte Osei and eventually got her removed”, he disclosed in an interview MyNewsGh.com monitored.

Speaking on the executive breakfast show on Class Fm monitored by MyNewsGh.com, he described the invitation by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to Mr Ofosu Ampofo as needless stating that there is no where he can be taken on for compromising the security of the state.

“How is he compromising the security state? The two main things we have heard is take on the EC Chairperson and that he would endorse the National Peace Council Chairman being insulted. How does that undermine national Security”, he asked.

According to him, this is not the way the CID must operate by inviting authors of tapes circulating on social media calling for an end to the mode of investigation by the police in such matters.

“These things we must stop. Some people are too anxious to hold onto power or capture power. As for me I am a private legal practitioner I want to be free and I believe majority of Ghanaians want to be free so that they can wake about in the morning and go about their daily business of keeping body and soul together. We are not interested in all these ‘politricks’ going on”, he jabbed.
