CID Boss lacks moral right to investigate leaked tape – Asiedu Nketia

General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has slammed the C.I.D Boss, ACP Tiwaa Addo-Dankwa for having the temerity to investigate a leaked tape.

According to him, the CID Boss has no moral authority to investigate leaked tapes as she herself was caught up in one such tape which she claimed to have been doctored.

“If we were to arrest people based on leaked tape, no NPP member would have been free by now. President Akufo Addo himself was caught in a leaked tape inciting party youth, that’s when he said ‘all die be die’, but he was not arrested. Then Osafo Marfo’s tape also popped up, he told the whole world that it was doctored and nobody arrested him. The CID Boss herself was caught in a leaked tape strategizing to how to cover up for the NPP government in a case she was investigating. Nobody arrested her but was rather promoted. She’s now the person investigating leaked tape, what moral right has she got to do that? Her action is laughable,” Johnson Asiedu Nketia told Akwasi Nsiah on Kasapa News.

The Criminal Investigations Department of the Ghana Police Service on Wednesday, February 27 extended an invitation to Mr over the leaked tape in which he is allegedly heard calling for relentless attacks on the chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Mrs. Jean Mensa.

In the leaked audio, Mr. Ofosu-Ampofo told party communicators that “we’re going to take her [EC boss] to the cleaners.”

“As for the EC chair, we must wage a relentless war on this EC chair. Me, she doesn’t want to see my face,” Ofosu-Ampofo allegedly said at the meeting which took place after the Ayawaso by-election.

As part of strategic communication plans for the NDC going into the 2020 elections, Ofosu-Ampofo also gave his blessings for the communicators to verbally attack the Peace Council chairman Professor Emmanuel Asante.

Meanwhile, the CID has charged Mr Ofosu Ampofo with conspiracy to cause harm, rioting, and assault of a public officer.
