Tokyo 2020 Qualifier: Nine foreign-based stars join Ghana’s training

Nine foreign-based players joined Ghana’s Black Meteors training at the Accra Sports Stadium on Tuesday morning ahead of their CAF U-23 Cup of Nations qualifier.

The legion includes in-form Paderborn striker Bernard Tekpetey who has scored in nine in 25 league appearances in the German Bundesliga II.

He was at the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon where he made cameo appearances for the Black Stars.



Sparta Prague striker Benjamin Tetteh who has bagged ten goals in 25 league appearances in the Czech Republic has joined the team.

Kwabena Owusu of Spanish Segunda side Salamanca has made a return to the team after scoring a hat-trick in the 5-1 drubbing of Togo in the previous qualifying round h

In-form Genk winger Joseph Paintsil, Kingsley Fobi, Gideon Mensah, Musah Nuhu, Isaac Twum and Osman Bukari all reported for training.

Numancia forward Yaw Yeboah will arrive on Tuesday night and will join the team on Wednesday in training.
