President Nana Akufo-Addo is beginning the first phase of his 2019 nationwide tour today, DGN Online can confirm.
Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, briefed the media about the tour early on Wednesday morning in Accra.
According to him, after commissioning $1.5 billion Sinohydro Roads Project in Tamale today, the President would kickstart the tour, beginning with six newly created regions.
He said the President would visit three of the six new regions namely Western North, Bono East, and Ahafo Regions, respectively, from today, April 10, 2019 to Monday April 15, 2019.
The first region he is expected to visit this afternoon, is the Western North Region where he is scheduled to cut sod for some town road projects including the Sefwi Wiaso Town road.
He will leave the Western North for Ahafo on Friday and in Ahafo, he will inaugurate some projects until Sunday.
The President while in Ahafo Region, will inspect the site for the construction of the new Regional Coordinating Council.
On Monday, he will be visiting the Bono East Region.
The President will continue his tour across the rest of 16 regions.
President Akufo-Addo has since assuming office in 2017, been touring the various regions to gain insight into the developments and challenges of the regions.
